Finish exhibit tags and photograph the completed arrangement before packing.
- Check water level, damaged foliage, stability, dimensions, and the class schedule one last time.
- Do not mist blooms unless the species and show rules call for it; spotting and fungal damage can result.
- Keep enough water for the trip if the container seals safely. If it cannot, drain only what is necessary and carry clean water separately for an immediate top-up.
- Place the container in a box wider than its base. Use rolled towels, reusable blocks, or crumpled paper around the container, never crushing flowers or hiding loose pins.
- An adult should lift the box into a cool part of the vehicle, secure it against braking and turns, and keep it out of direct sun.
Carry spare conditioned stems, a cloth, water, and the adult's tool kit. At the venue, top up, make only necessary repairs, remove packing, and set the entry where the steward directs.
Afterward, clean reusable supports and compost only healthy plant material free from wire, tape, foam, or invasive seed. Then record what survived the trip in the Garden Journal.
